Please be aware that many of our bridges and tunnels have height, weight or width restrictions. Please check before you travel and use a suitable route. This is part of our wider Streetspace programme which aims to create more space for people to safely walk or cycle in London which is required as London emerges from the coronavirus lockdown and as people begin to return to work and travel more frequently. These changes to vehicle access to help address the public health issues raised by the return of substantial numbers moving between London Bridge Station and the borough area and the City, and are designed to reduce traffic pressures to improve the walking, cycling and bus environment to meet those pressures. They link up with the scheme on Bishopsgate which restricts access for general traffic at the same times and will create a much needed cycling, walking and public transport corridor through the City of London.
