We are delighted to welcome John to the team as Operations Manager as he brings forty years of warehousing and management experience to the table, to further improve the efficiency of our warehouse operations. We sat down with him to get to know him a little better.
As mentioned, John is vastly experienced in the warehouse sector, with thirty-five years of experience in managerial positions. His past roles and responsibilities included overseeing new brands, racking projects and directing people with his good management skills. John describes himself as a good people person with a youthful and “banterful” side, and believes with his experience he can help guide our growing warehouse team in a successful direction… But is always up for a conversation about the weekend or a football debate.
When asked what John is planning on bringing to the table, he explained: “I believe what HBC has right now is great, from moving to the site almost two years ago and seeing how extensive their solutions are, it’s admirable.”
“But with my experience, I believe I can bring additional knowledge and support to the warehousing team on the back end of things. So whilst the supervisors are dealing with their day-to-day and customer queries, I will be undergoing efficiency and processing projects, making calm decisions to further enhance HBC’s solutions for the better.”
In December 2022, HBC Logistics upgraded its entire multi-site operations to a single 62,000-square-foot delivery depot and storage facility in Stratton Business Park, based in Biggleswade just off of the A1. As well as being extremely well-located, our site boasts a warehouse with 7,500 pallet space capacity, four times the size of our previous site. This was to ultimately manage our growing demand for storage solutions but has allowed us to expand further into container storage, fulfilment services and international freight.
With these additional services, we require a strong-minded, experienced leader dedicated to maintaining our storage space regarding racking, equipment, problem-solving and more… And John is our knight in shining armour.
If you have followed us for some time, you know how much HBC Logistics loves football, and new boy John is no exception. We have a new Spurs fan in the house which keeps Director Steve a happy man. So when he’s not working or watching Spurs, John loves to spend time with his family and two dogs, and takes pride in watching his daughter play football.
