It’s been a busy and successful few days for HBC Logistics this weekend as our team raised over £1,000 at Megan’s raffle/bake sale event and Muddy Mayhem!
If you follow our social media, you are probably aware of some of our efforts to raise £10,000 for the Garden House Hospice – a local charity based in Letchworth providing free specialist care for patients, families and carers facing life-limiting illnesses across areas in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
Although the Garden House Hospice receives some funding, they need to raise almost £5 million in charitable income to run these services and greatly rely on support from the community. So every year, hundreds of thousands of items are donated, tens of thousands of miles are run, walked and cycled, and thousands of homemade meals are cooked to help raise money and support this incredible charity. This amazing organisation hits close to home for many of us at HBC Logistics, so we wanted to contribute in any way we could.
Megan’s Raffle!
On Saturday, Megan hosted a raffle and bake sale fundraising event at Eynesbury Rovers Football Club during the match day of Eynesbury United F.C and Old Bradwell United F.C. With the help from her family and friends, the football club and some local businesses, Megan had plenty of cakes to sell and prizes to give away.
Despite the 2-3 result for home team Eynesbury United, Megan received huge amounts of support and interest at her stall, and raised an amazing £846.64 for the charity!
Muddy Mayhem!
On Sunday, HBC’s very own Mark, Rob, Lisa and Wayne got stuck in at Muddy Mayhem – a fundraising event hosted by the Garden House Hospice where hundreds of people run 5k through mud-filled obstacles to raise some money.
It looked like the guys had a fun morning… Apart from Mark, who lost both of his shoes in the first mud obstacle, and had to finish the rest of the race in his socks!
Thanks to their efforts and your support, they managed to support £235, bringing our weekend total to £1081.64 and our complete fundraising total for 2022 to £4,251.64 – well done everyone!
Our is still active and open for further donations. Keep an eye out on our social media channels for our next upcoming charity events.
