Here at HBC Logistics, we have a new focus to become Carbon Positive. Our aim is to offset all of the carbon emitted by our vehicles every year as well as expand to carbon positivity, meaning our carbon capture is greater than our emissions.
For companies and organisations in the logistics industry, it can be a challenge for companies like us to make any effective changes to our carbon levels without impacting our quality of service. Therefore, after analysing our options we have chosen to team up with Carbon Neutral Britain to offer our customers the voluntary option to offset the environmental impact of their deliveries with us – in hopes that they will join us to make a difference.
Carbon Neutral Britain is a non-governmental organisation with an initiative to help Britain’s businesses make an impact on climate change. Founded in 2020, CNB has already offset over 500,000 tonnes of Carbon Dioxide emissions and planted over three million trees worldwide, which is an incredible achievement. Ultimately, we feel this is a quick and effective solution for HBC Logistics to join the movement and become your local Carbon Positive delivery partner.
When a customer chooses to offset the environmental impact of their delivery, a small additional fee will be added to the total cost. These fees will go towards funding both worldwide projects with Carbon Neutral Britain, plus future local projects we have planned internally. So on one hand, the large majority of the collected funds will go towards funding the worldwide renewable energy and forest projects run by CNB. From planting trees to building sustainable energy resources for third-world countries, our contribution will go towards making a huge difference in the future of our Earth.
We are just a few months away until HBC Logistics relocates to our new site in Biggleswade, so we have made an additional pledge to invest our time and money into supporting those closer to home. From building parks and gardens to helping schools and other local businesses, the rest of the funds raised will go towards our internal project to give back to the local community.
Thanks to our close relationships with local football clubs Biggleswade FC, Stevenage FC and Watford FC (Regional Partner) – as well as a local charity organisation, Garden House Hospice Care – working with our local community is nothing new to us and has always been important at HBC.
