On Wednesday 13th April 2022, some of the team at HBC drove down to Thruxton Circuit in Andover, to finally meet one of our sponsorships in person, Árón Taylor-Smith.
The purpose of the Media Day is for the racers to head out on track to test out their new and updated vehicles in preparation for the first race weekend on April 23rd – the Cupra team in particular has had the latest Hybrid installations to help make their racing more sustainable. It’s important for the racers that they feel completely comfortable with the behaviour of the vehicle because if they’re not it could affect their performance. So thanks to Media Days, Árón and his opponents can spend a few days perfecting everything. 
The Media Day was completely open to fans that have purchased tickets, as well as the organisations that are sponsors, just like HBC Logistics. It was really great to be surrounded by fellow BTCC fans.
Our trip involved exploring the circuit, getting well-known with the racers of the season, and of course meeting Árón and Team HARD themselves! It was great to meet Árón and to watch his team work so he can get out on track – it’s amazing to see what they do. We also got to see our logo on Árón’s helmet for the first time, which is placed on the chin of his helmet.
We decided to sponsor Árón this season not only for the benefits it will have on the business, but we really felt the need to get involved with something so exciting and adventurous, and yesterday certainly proved that. “The BTCC wasn’t something I have paid attention to in the past, so having this opportunity brought to us was really exciting,” HBC’s head of Marketing, Megan, commented. “Then to visit yesterday and see how supportive the fans are and what these sort of days entails, it genuinely made me so excited to go to my first race day.”
Overall, it was a really good day and we can’t wait for the racing season to officially commence! The atmosphere was brilliant and we are so glad HBC Logistics is involved with this exciting sport. A huge thank you to Árón for these opportunities.
