HBC Logistics is excited to announce a second year of partnership with Irish BTCC Race Driver and Multi-Winner of the competition, Árón Taylor-Smith. This time, we will be supporting him as he begins a new chapter at Power Maxed Racing.
Formed in 2015, Power Maxed Racing is renowned for being a huge sponsor and participant of the BTCC. Over the years, they have worked with some well-known drivers including Mike Bushell, Jade Edwards and Double BTCC Champion Jason Plato. This year, they approached HBC Logistics-sponsored driver Árón Taylor-Smith offering a huge opportunity to join their team for his ninth season.
Árón began his racing career in karts at a young age, conveniently at the same track as new teammate Andrew Watson. As the years went by he progressed to cars and has since been a member of the paddock for many years, gaining a spectacular history of multiple wins in the BTCC.
Having visited the podium in the BTCC no less than 18 times amassing 5 outright race wins, Power Maxed Racing welcomes Taylor-Smith’s wealth of knowledge and driver experience to the team, his belief in himself and above all else his burning desire to win.
Árón Taylor Smith said “This is a dream come true for me, the dream after this is to win another race in the BTCC and the dream after that is to fight for a championship. I have watched what Adam and his Team have put together over the years, and have seen what their car is capable of on the track, I know their desire matches mine when it comes to success, we have tried to get a deal done in the past and its never quite come together so I am beyond happy that it has this year. Visiting the workshop and seeing what they have done over the winter, I have never been more confident going in to a season”
Team Principal Adam Weaver clearly beamed with joy when questioned why he had put so much effort behind getting Árón Taylor Smith in a Power Maxed Racing Astra stating “He is just a great guy, his enthusiasm is contagious and more of that in a team can never be a bad thing.
I know Aron and Andrew will get on brilliantly and I’m really looking forward to being a part of this team. It’s everything we have been working towards and I have never been this excited about the BTCC year ahead”
Here at HBC Logistics, we are so excited to step back into the BTCC with Árón. With an exciting new team and a fresh season ahead, we can’t wait to see how he gets on by his side. It’s not long to go until the first round kicks off being at one of Árón’s favourites, Donington Park National Circuit on the 22nd/ 23rd April, with all his family & friends supporting him, he hopes he will be able to hit the ground running.
“2023 marks the second year of the HBC Logistics BTCC program and it is a partnership that I am immensely proud of. They are a fantastic company to deal with and what I love most about them is how they genuinely support me, both on and off the track, as this partnership extends far beyond a generic ‘sponsorship’ program…”
Árón continues: “We have obviously changed teams for the 2023 season and this wouldn’t be possible without the continued support of HBC Logistics. I am genuinely looking forward to seeing them trackside throughout the season as we have a great activation plan already in place.”
