In addition to our time-critical delivery services, HBC Logistics is dedicated to supporting several talented individuals who are up-and-coming in their field of sport. We are delighted to enter 2024 with five current sponsorships signed and sealed, including local football team Biggleswade FC – managed by the Director and Founder of HBC, Dave Northfield.
Below we are reintroducing this year’s sponsors. Do expect to see some exciting content on our social media pages in the months to come.
Owen Meeds – Long Drive World Champion in the making!
In June 2023, we announced that we had sponsored 21-year-old Owen Meeds, a friend of ours locally based in St Neots, Cambridgeshire. Last year, Owen found his passion for the Long Drive Games, and stepped into the big leagues for the first time. For his first go, his end ranking was extremely impressive – finishing with the European Long Drive Tour Champion title and qualifying for the World Championships with his current personal best of 420 yards – that’s the length of just over three and a half Premier League football pitches!
It seems Meeds has always been the sporty type, as before Long Drive, he told us about his football achievements – playing for England U16s with multiple top 10 finishes in the European Championships and 2x World Junior Championship wins in Portugal. Then, since winning his debut sport in Germany, Owen has not looked back.
“As always I want to give a big thank you to HBC for supporting me through this season, my first season… I wouldn’t have been able to without HBC so thank you!” HBC Logistics is excited to be supporting Owen once again for his second debut in the Long Drive Games, following him around the world as he perfects his swing.
Aron Taylor-Smith – A fast-racing driver for a fast logistics company!
He’s one of our followers’ most favourite, HBC is thrilled to confirm an extension of our partnership with multiple BTCC race winner, Aron Taylor-Smith. This year being his tenth season competing in the 2024 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship.
We first agreed a sponsorship with Aron in January 2022 with no idea what to expect! We had a few BTCC fans in the office but this was HBCs first big-deal, TV-broadcasted sponsorship. Thankfully, Aron and his team were (and are) extremely supportive and catered to our every need, from collaboration to hospitality.
After experiencing a few difficult years prior to our first encounter, we have since watched Aron evolve into a force not to be reckoned with. In the last year alone, Taylor-Smith has been adapting to his new team at CarStore Power Maxed Racing, changing out the Cupra for the Vauxhall. This turned out to be one of his greatest career moves, as we witnessed a breakout second half of the season for the Irishman with four independent class victories and now 20 podium finishes since making his debut in 2011.
The world of BTCC is expecting big things for Aron in the 2024 season, and we cannot wait to watch him flourish once again. Taylor-Smith commented: “The support from everyone at HBC Logistics means more to me than you would realise as they’ve really become part of my racing crew! Everyone at the base is insanely supportive and I’m over the moon to continue flying the HBC flag into the 2024 season. We have some pretty cool plans in the pipeline for this season to make it our best one yet!”
Mikkel Mortensen – Up-and-coming jockey!
Dave Northfield was proud to contribute his very own sponsor to the mix with up-and-coming apprentice jockey, Mikkel Mortensen. Aged just 20 years old, Mikkel has had a successful year training and competing in Newmarket with a number of horses – including Fitz Perfectly, Atrium, and Ideal Guest.
We look forward to getting to know Mikkel more and watching him thrive in 2024!
Aloys Jr Youmbi – Frank Warren’s Upcoming Boxing Champion!
Aloys has been a crazy addition to our sponsorship belt! He’s allowed HBC to become a part of such a compelling, popular sport that has you on the edge of your seat.
At just 20 years old, Aloys is managed by Frank Warren himself and Queensbury Promotions. He debuted in November 2021 and has since won four London titles, and two National titles, along with International honours – a huge portfolio of achievements in such a short space of time.
Admired by his talent, we have signed a five-fight deal with Aloys, provided with ringside tickets to every event plus have our logo viewed live from TNT Sports! As we enter 2024, we have only experienced two of five fights both lasting no more than 38 seconds! He’s truly an insane talent.
Please do keep an eye on our social media platforms (@hbclogistics) for regular updates and announcements on these guys!
